Allan Brothers have grown voluminously and immeasurably over the years becoming a name to be reckoned with, in the winery industry. Their prospects and reach have become larger in the present time. What is making the business thrive even after a century since its inception? In their own words, it’s their marriage with technology.
The Allan Bros operates approximately 2,500 acres throughout Eastern Washington and packages its own lines of apples and cherries in addition to packing those fruits for other growers in the state. they have installed the latest software to manage their day to day work and future mapping.
Channelized technological investments have been of one of the most important pillars of their modern business decisions. Allan Bros Fruit’s has been deeply engaged in giving their client a matchless experience. For example, the company’s apple packing lines feature proprietary operational analytics software, and Compac LED color and defect sorting and near-infrared internal defect sorting to gather as much information as needed on every piece of fruit they grow.
“We quickly learned what technology could bring to the warehouse, and HighJump, which is the warehouse management system that we use, allowed us to continue to build onto the core WMS. We began leveraging the customization offered in HighJump and folded other areas of the business into the WMS which had previously been manual, disjointed processes. Some of the systems we built included QC and grower reporting. We create intelligent information for our executives, management team, and line workers — everyone is hungry for information” said Allan Brothers’ chief information officer, Autumn Bernier.
