The Chamber of Commerce celebrates the new location of the Gadgets Museum Shop of the Bradbury Science Museum Association with ribbon cutting on Thursday, October 10 from 2:00 p.m. 4 p.m. The new location is in the Defense Gallery inside the Bradbury Science Museum at 1350 Central Avenue.
With the generous sponsorship of Kent and Roger Waterman, the new Gadgets Museum Shop was made possible in memory of Robert and Alice Waterman of their family. In 1947, when the Atomic Energy Commission employed Bob as a security guard, the Watermans moved to Los Alamos. The couple became an important part of the community and started a business that relocated, operated and developed several properties in the area, including the Bradbury Museum of Science. The proceeds from the museum shop benefit the Bradbury Association’s efforts to promote Northern New Mexico’s Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) programs.
The Bradbury Science Museum Association (BSMA)’s goal is to support the educational mission of the Bradbury Science Museum (BSM) as its official non-profit affiliate functioning as a tax-free entity under IRC 501(c) 3. Via seminars, field trips, special events, and funding for the museum and local teachers, the BSMA supports STEM education and scientific literacy.
Ribbon cuttings are a benefit of being a part of the Los Alamos Chamber. Please visit losalamoschamber.com or contact Ryn Herrmann at (505) 661-4807 for more information about membership in the Chamber.
