AI has successfully managed to transform every sector in the U.S. be it agriculture, medicine, etc. Competitive firms, especially, will have no choice but to somewhat accept and embrace AI. For this purpose, firms will need to assemble a crew educated and thoroughly trained in this rapidly advancing field.
Keeping this in mind, Florida Atlantic University’s College of Engineering and Computer Science is initiating Florida’s very first Master of Science degree, majoring in artificial intelligence. This degree is offered by the university’s Department of Computer and Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. The purpose of this degree is to prep students for various careers in different fields which require proficiency in artificial intelligence.
The dean of FAU’s College of Engineering and Computer Science, Stella Batalama, stated that through the dawn of the fourth industrial revolution primarily defined by artificial intelligence and autonomy, the state the state of Florida, along with the whole nation, is working to lead the whole globe in AI-and-autonomy-powered innovation, and since there is barely any industry unaffected by AI and autonomy, industry investments on AI and autonomy are at their peak. She added how their College of Engineering and Computer Science is engaging in convergence engineering and science research to provide AI, machine learning and autonomy solutions to issues deemed critical by the state and the country. She said that Pedagogy powered by study and development in their college paved way for their Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence, Florida’s first such program. The innovative degree program and the curriculum will educate students and prepare experts to acquire novel skills for their jobs, and name themselves among the first generation of an AI-and autonomy workforce, she concluded.
