Industry Cloud Services Settling In, with a Few Apprehensions

Industry Cloud Services have become the norm, or so we thought, with its launch. But according to a new survey, not everyone is accepting of this new technology, with some showing serious apprehension due to many points that have not been considered so far.

More than 60% of companies are installing and banking on the services provided by the industry cloud. Tech professionals see a goldmine in its specialized and customized services. 64% respondents affirmed the usage of industry cloud services and the ones who hadn’t yet opted for the Bespoke service, expressed willingness and plans to benefit from this software. The remaining 18% are mindful of the Avant-Garde service considering factors outside the immediate benefits.

The service is expensive and implementation of the same will burn a hole in some businesses pocket. More than 50% said they were wary of its speed and dexterity was an important point. The not so dispersed view was also based on other factors like regulatory/industry compliance, vendor industry experience, and whether a vendor provides a turnkey system for a specific industry. Complexity in management also discouraged 20% from going for it. Almost 10% said that it was a valuable technology but using it involved difficulties, it wasn’t easy nor smooth to learn its operations.

Annual budgets for industry cloud services were diverse, with some spending more than $1 million while others reporting their budget to be less than $10,000.

In spite of its popularity and all the noise, the industry has taken the new technology with a pinch of salt. The progression remains to be witnessed after its been uniformly applied over a period of time.
